Who is Class Act DJ Service?
Class Act DJ service is a full-time locally owned and operated company specializing in DJ entertainment in the Banff / Canmore area. What this means to you is that we are very familiar with every venue in the area and work with their staff on a regular basis in addition to working with many other local wedding professionals. We are highly recommended by major and small venues alike due to our reputation of providing reliable high quality services. As a full-time company, we have the flexibility to meet with you at convenient times, 7 days a week. Ultimately, the decision is yours and you must be completely confident with the DJ company you choose, the overall success of your event may depend on that company.
Who will be my DJ?
As a multi system company, we have a variety of DJ's. You are of course welcome to choose a DJ that you have seen before and enjoyed, subject to availability, or we will assign a DJ based on your event and input.
What is included in your fees?
As you can imagine, this is one of the most frequently asked questions. It will come up at some point in every enquiry. Our service includes much more than some of our competitors. A wireless microphone for your MC is standard, however the house system may still be your best option. If you are planning on more than 100 guests, there is no charge for an upgraded sound system. Basic tasteful lighting is also included, subject to space limitations and the mood you want to create. Corporate and private party packages may vary.
Will I pay meal and lodging expenses for the DJ?
A meal is required on all events longer than 5 consecutive hours of performance time including background muisc. If a meal will not be available, your DJ will require a 40 minute break at the same time as your main course. Some venues have no alternate food services.
Because we are local vendors, it is often no more than a 20 to 30 minute drive home and accommodations are not required. Some remote locations may require some form of lodging depending on time of year and expected weather conditions. We have not had to exercise this to this date.
Can we choose our own music?
We certainly encourage your input into the evenings music selections. Some thought should be given to how danceable a song is and its relative appeal to the majority of guests when choosing your music.
Are there songs that you can not legally play?
Those songs which have been downloaded from internet sources can not be played. You will sometimes see references to AVLA restricted songs on Canadian DJ sites. These songs can not be reproduced or copied in any way, but can still be played from the original CD. Each of our systems has an original of various restricted artist CD's such as Garth Brooks, the Rolling Stones and U2.
Do you supply a written contract?
All events are covered by a written contract for the protection of both parties. Our contracts are clear and concise in their wording.
When are payments due?
A deposit is required to guarantee the date and the balance is due between 10 days and 24 hours prior to the event depending on the form of payment. We accept personal and company checks, Visa, Mastercard, Interac e-Transfer, debit card in our office only and of course cash.
Do you belong to any organizations?
We are a member in good standing of the Canadian Disc Jockey Association. Many of our DJ's are involved in community organizations and public service clubs in Canmore.
